“SHOCKING SCANDAL: GOP Chairman Suspended Over Disturbing Assault Allegations! Find Out Why Top Officials Are Demanding Resignation!”

The Republican Party of Florida took decisive action on Sunday by suspending Chairman Christian Ziegler and calling for his resignation amid an ongoing police investigation into a rape accusation against him. Prior to this, Governor Ron DeSantis and other prominent officials had already urged Ziegler to step down.

Ziegler is facing allegations of sexual assault from a woman with whom he and his wife, Moms for Liberty co-founder Bridget Ziegler, had previously engaged in a consensual sexual relationship, according to police records.

In a motion to censure Ziegler, the party asserted that his behavior rendered him unfit for office. This information was shared on the social media platform X by Lee County GOP Chairman Michael Thomason.

Despite Ziegler’s attempt to defend himself during a closed-door meeting, the party board swiftly took action against him, as reported by Thompson. The party’s executive committee plans to conduct another vote in the future to decide whether to formally remove Ziegler from his position.

The Sarasota Police Department is currently investigating the woman’s claim that Ziegler assaulted her in her apartment in October. Police documents suggest that a planned sexual encounter involving the Zieglers and the woman took a dark turn when Bridget Ziegler was unable to participate. The accuser alleges that Christian Ziegler proceeded with the encounter against her will.

Although Christian Ziegler has not been charged with a crime and maintains his innocence, asserting that the encounter was consensual, the accusation has created significant upheaval. Bridget Ziegler, an elected member of the Sarasota School Board, faced pressure from the board to resign, but she refused.

The Zieglers, known for their opposition to LGBTQ+ rights, have faced criticism and accusations of hypocrisy due to their outspoken views and their involvement with another woman. Prominent figures, including Governor DeSantis, Senators Rick Scott and Marco Rubio, U.S. Representative Matt Gaetz, and Florida’s Republican House and Senate leaders, have all joined the chorus calling for Christian Ziegler’s resignation.
